Gran Canaria Golf
The
landscape of Gran Canaria is as varied as the amenities if offers to day’s
tourists. The island’s southern
coastline has fine beaches with limitless golden sands stretching in all
directions with spectacular sand dunes, famous the world over.
In complete contrast the centre of the island rises to a mountainous area
known as the peak district. Here
can be found lakes and rugged terrain covered with evergreen trees of
canary-pine.
Its
Canary Island climate giving soft breezes and clear sea makes Gran Canaria
idyllic for those who want to just laze in the sun or those looking for a more
energetic pastime. Its two first
class eighteen hole golf courses are backed up with opportunities for tennis
enthusiasts and those wanting every water sport imaginable from subaqua to
sailing. Cuisine also has many
varied attractions relying heavily on the excellent local fish.
Locally produced cheeses and meats with spicy sauces are complimented with regional confectionery and a wide variety of fruit and vegetables. The cultural scene is as rich and varied as are the festivals that take place throughout the year on this delightful island that shares the seat of the islands’ Government on a rotating basis every four years. |
